Meditation for Parental Anxiety
2024 is proving to be quite an exciting year as I have actually completed a first draft of a novel! This is a first for me and I'm really excited to get stuck into the editing stage.
Allow me to introduce one of the main characters, Anya Blake.
Anya is a single mum, she runs a cat rescue home and lives in Clitheroe, Lancashire in the United Kingdom. Anya paints portraits of animals, usually while in a meditative trance, and if that wasn't unusual enough, the person who owns the painting will find it does more than just decorates their home.

My Style & Philosophy
I start each day thinking about the wise words of one of my favourite authors, Neil Gaiman:
"Finish what you're writing. Whatever you have to do to finish it, finish it."
This November I have experienced the high of seeing my name in print - I've had a short story accepted and published in 'The Rabbit Hole' and I am so thrilled!
Now I'm done with dreaming of seeing my novel in print, it's no longer a pleasant place my mind wanders to now and then - it's at the very top of my bucket list.
Writing is your heart spilling out of your fingertips and you put everything you have into each piece of work - then you lay yourself bare and hope that among the critics, one person will read it and want to read more. That's my dream, I want someone to read my work and enjoy it so much that they searched for this website - if that person is you, thank you from all my heart for making my dream come true.
There are currently two or three plots swimming around in my head, one is a dystopian novel about the fall of romance and the abolishment of marriage, another is magical realism and the third is a book of short stories for children starring my two adorable cats, Morag and Lilly.
I'm juggling a full time job in manufacturing, being a Mum to my amazing eleven year old girl and falling in love daily with my one and only - and he lives 258 miles away! If you'd like to get to know me and my work better, please explore my writing, blog and book reviews and if you’d like to learn more, feel free to drop me a line.
